Hilton Herbs has long been a trusted name in the herbal supplements market, providing natural health solutions for animals across the world. Hilton Herbs approached Thought and Mortar to migrate their website to Shopify Plus, with a focus on scaling their business for global markets while improving back-end operations, inventory management, and customer experience across B2B and B2C segments.

The challenges

As the business expanded internationally, the limitations of their custom CMS became apparent, especially with the need to manage diverse markets, languages, and fulfilment centres. Our challenge was to build a robust, multi-language, and multi-market site that could handle region-specific product catalogues, fulfilment processes, and pricing structures— all while maintaining a cohesive brand experience for customers worldwide.

Our work involved transforming their online presence into a multi-language, multi-market platform, fully internationalised for the US, EU, and UK markets. The project also included the integration of three fulfilment centres, improved inventory management, and the development of both B2B and B2C functionalities through a single site.

  • Migration to Shopify Plus for a scalable platform

    • Migrated from a custom CMS and brought along all of their existing functionality

    • Set up a SparkLayer B2B sales channel to support the growing complexity of the business

  • Ensured successful integration with their 3 chosen 3PL systems

  • Multi language and multi currency capabilities

    • Utilised Shopify's multi-language capabilities, along with third-party apps and custom development, to create a truly internationalised website

    • Managed in a way that allowed Hilton Herbs to easily update content for each region through the Shopify admin, significantly improving the flexibility and control they had over their online presence.

  • B2B and B2C functionality through a single site

    • Built a dual-functionality system that allowed wholesale customers to log in and access exclusive pricing and product catalogues, while retail customers could browse the standard product range

    • Implemented a custom B2B pricelist management system, allowing Hilton Herbs to set unique pricing for different clients based on their order volumes and customer agreements.

  • Fulfilment centre integrations and inventory management

    • Integrated three separate fulfilment centres across the US, EU, and UK

    • Worked with Shopify’s inventory management systems, using custom APIs and third-party integrations, to ensure that stock levels were accurately synced across all locations

    • Automated order routing based on the customer’s location and stock availability, reducing shipping times and fulfilment costs
